Apple CEO Tim Cook explained that Apple is proud to partner with organizations and communities dedicated to the U.S. National Park Service.

"Whenever I visit a national park -- as I did recently in Yosemite and Glacier -- I feel the awe, serenity and reverence that only nature can inspire. We are proud to partner with the organizations and communities that maintain our parks so that we can learn about their history and share them with the world. These treasures are well worth preserving for every generation, now and in the future."

"America's national parks are a gift we all share," said Will Shafroth, president and CEO of the National Park Foundation. "Apple's partnership and generous commitment help ensure that all people find themselves in national parks and feel welcome in these places where we all belong."

Apple will donate $10 to the National Park Service for every Apple Pay purchase made at Apple Retail Stores, through Apple.com and through the Apple Store app. Donations will be capped at $1,000,000 (approximately 6.85 million yuan).

In addition to donations, Apple is also celebrating U.S. National Parks Day on Apple Podcasts (featuring curated content), and Apple Maps. As previously reported, Apple is also launching the Apple Watch "National Parks" event challenge, which will take place on August 27.
