NVIDIA Hopper architecture H100 GPUs in full production, with more than 50 server models coming by the end of the year
September 21 - NVIDIA today announced that NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPUs are in full production, and NVIDIA technology partners worldwide plan to launch the first products and services based on the groundbreaking NVIDIA Hopper architecture in October, according to the company's official announcement.
Released in April 2022, H100 is comprised of 80 billion transistors and features a number of groundbreaking technologies, including a powerful new Transformer engine and NVIDIA NVLink interconnect technology, to accelerate the largest AI models, such as advanced recommender systems and large language models, and to drive innovation in areas such as conversational AI and drug discovery.
NVIDIA said the H100 enables enterprises to cut the cost of AI deployments by delivering up to 3.5x greater energy efficiency, 1/3 lower total cost of ownership and 1/5 fewer server nodes used than the previous generation, all while delivering the same AI performance.
The NVIDIA DGX H100 system is also now available for customer pre-orders. Each DGX system includes NVIDIA Base Command and NVIDIA AI Enterprise software, enabling cluster deployments from a single node to NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD, providing advanced AI development for large language models and other large-scale workloads. H100-powered systems from the world's leading computer manufacturers are expected to ship in the coming weeks, with more than 50 server models available by the end of the year and dozens more in the first half of 2023. Partners already building systems include Atos, Cisco, Dell Technologies, Fujitsu, Gigabyte, Wisers, Lenovo and Supermicro.
