AMD launches memory overclocking technology EXPO, debuts 15 DDR5-6400 models available
At AMD's press conference this morning, AMD officially announced the DDR5 Overclocking Technology EXPO.
According to AMD, with this technology, 1080p gaming performance can be improved by up to 11% and DDR5 memory latency can be reduced to 63ns. In addition, AMD also said that AMD is offering EXPO technology to its industry memory partners without royalties or licensing fees.
When the AMD 7000 processor debuts on September 27, there will be 15 models of DDR5-6400 high-end overclocking memory available from manufacturers such as ADATA, Corsair, and Kingston.
AMD EXPO (Extended Profiles for Overclocking) targets Riptide 7000 processors and DDR5 memory against XMP 3.0 overclocking technology from Intel and others to facilitate one-click overclocking. The memory manufacturer is expected to announce the first memory kits with EXPO profiles soon.
