Apple Xcode Cloud subscriptions are now available for developers starting at $49.99 per month
After more than a year of internal testing, Apple today announced the availability of Xcode Cloud subscriptions to all developers.
Simply put, Xcode Cloud is a continuous integration and delivery service built into the Xcode program designed to provide developers with cloud-based tools to help them better develop apps, run automated tests, and accelerate the development process with other tasks, while making it easier to distribute tests and receive user feedback.
Xcode Cloud is a continuous integration and delivery service built into Xcode that accelerates the development and delivery of high-quality applications. Get started by configuring your workflow in Xcode and receive 25 free compute hours per month through the end of 2023. Now account holders can subscribe to additional compute hours in the Apple Developer app.
Xcode Cloud is available in three different payment models.
The $49.99 per month version provides access to 100 compute hours.
The $99.99 per month version provides access to 250 compute hours.
The $399.99 per month version provides access to 1,000 compute hours.
According to Apple, developers can switch between these plans at any time. The company also noted that the free plan is a limited service for developers who are members of the Apple Developer Program. Starting in 2024, the previously free "25 compute hours" plan will cost $14.99 per month.
A compute hour is an hour to perform a task in the cloud, such as developing an app or running tests. Compute hour usage can be tracked in the App Store Connect and Apple Developer apps, and additional information is available on Apple's Xcode Cloud website.
