According to leaked reports, Intel's 13th generation Raptor Lake release is just around the corner, and as a result, a lot of information is being spread around. Details about the SKU have allegedly surfaced, initially in the form of basic specs, followed by more in-depth details. A few days ago, the accompanying Z790 chipset details and allegedly official Intel Raptor Lake slides were also leaked.

At today's Intel Tech Tour 2022 event, Intel officially shared more information about its upcoming Raptor Lake processors. generation Raptor Lake (RPL) Core processors.

The exciting part of today's announcement is the confirmation of the clock frequencies on the RPL. While Intel has been increasing clock frequencies over the past few generations of CPUs, this time around, Raptor Lake is now confirmed to have an insane 6GHz base clock frequency.

Previous leaks about the Core i9-13900K and 13900KF did not reach this speed level. Therefore, Intel is likely hinting at a base speed of 6GHz for the Core i9-13900KS SKU, where the KS sample is essentially a pre-boxed chip with very high clock speeds right out of the box.

Intel also revealed that Raptor Lake has a world record overclocked clock speed of 8GHz. The image above shows the 13900KF Engineering Sample (ES) running at 8.1GHz. The chart above also confirms the 13900KF's 5.8GHz Raptor speed, which was leaked in an earlier slide.

Intel's 13th generation Core processors will be released in the early morning hours of September 28th and will be available on October 20th, with the first launch models including the i9, i7, and i5 K-series models. 13th generation Core i9K models will be available for pre-order in China after the September 28th launch, followed by what appears to be a domestic launch on October 13th, when the i7K and i5K models will be available for pre-order.
