Tencent officially launches Max II robot: first in China with precise positioning in complex terrain
Today, Tencent officially unveiled the second generation of the Max robot, which was developed by Tencent Robotics X Lab. Tencent said that the new generation of Max can accurately navigate complex terrain, which is a first for China.
The new generation of Max is also capable of learning on its own, and can learn its natural and agile gait within a few hours, allowing Max to adapt significantly to complex environments.
The Max II robot can perform difficult manoeuvres such as single-pile jumps, double-wheel stands, bipedal stands and flips off piles, and is four times faster than its predecessor, Jamoca.
According to Tencent, the biggest breakthrough of Max is its ability to plan ahead for a precise and feasible way to navigate complex terrain. In addition, Tencent Robotics X Lab is also using AI technologies such as deep reinforcement learning to advance robot intelligence research, allowing robots to learn independently in virtual environments and better adapt to changes in complex environments.
