The first self-driving logistics line in China is coming: only running unmanned trucks, operating in 2025

By    1 Sep,2022

The self-driving trucks will be fully unmanned on the main road and will not have a human driver, but will only require human participation for hydrogen refueling or transfer and unloading.

The hydrogen truck can be refueled in about 10 to 15 minutes and only needs to be refueled once a day to effectively achieve a satisfactory range.

In response to the natural environment, logistics needs and technical requirements of the Jiaming Highway, CardInfoLink has designed and developed a corresponding low-cost heavy truck autopilot solution.

At present, CardInfo has established in-depth cooperation with the domestic head of new energy heavy truck manufacturers, and will formally conduct field road tests in Jiuquan in the near future to prepare for future commercial operation.

Wang Bin, director of the Transportation Planning and Design Institute of CCCC First Highway Survey and Design Research Institute Co., Ltd, said that the Jiu Ming Highway project has entered the experimental phase, with an experimental cycle from the second half of this year to next year, and construction is expected to officially start within next year, with a construction period of about two years, to be officially put into operation in 2025, with the first batch of 600 vehicles.

According to the introduction, after the completion of the Jiaming Highway in 2025, it will be officially put into commercial operation, and the route will be a closed road and will be transported by fully unmanned trucks.

The reason why Carrefour is deeply involved in the construction of this Jiuming Highway is also due to its rich experience in the autonomous driving industry.
