Ford's new F-150 Lightning all-electric pickup will go up in price, starting at around $317,100
Less than five months after its first shipment to dealers, Ford's new electric truck, the F-150 Lightning, is set to increase in price, according to the Wall Street Journal.
On Tuesday, local time, Ford plans to reopen pre-orders for the new F-150 Lightning pickup this week, but will increase the price of multiple configurations by 7-18 per cent.
According to the report, Ford is adjusting the prices due to rising material costs and other factors. In addition, Ford says the new prices will only apply to new orders, not those currently awaiting delivery.
The F-150 Lightning now starts at $46,974 (approximately RMB 317,100), some $7,000 (approximately RMB 47,250) higher than the starting price of under $40,000 (approximately RMB 270,000) originally advertised by Ford executives.
