Mercedes-Benz is set to launch a range of all-electric models in 2023, including the AMG EQE

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled details of the specifications for the 2023 model year of its EQ line of all-electric vehicles, with a variety of models set to debut in the United States.

According to the media, 2023 could prove to be the "Year of the EQ," as the German luxury automaker goes all in on its EQ line of all-electric vehicles, and drops fuel-efficient vehicles altogether in the future.

While Mercedes-Benz has a number of models in China, currently U.S. customers can only get two versions of the EQS sedan, which will be followed by two versions of the smaller EQE. with the EQS sedan and EQE SUV, the AMG EQS and Mercedes-Benz's most affordable EQB SUV, Mercedes-Benz is rapidly growing its EV market share nearly tenfold.

Production of the EQS SUV began this week in Alabama, and the EQE SUV will also be built in the U.S. later this year, according to the report.

Mercedes has announced new versions of the EQS and EQE for 2023, including the EQS 450 4MATIC, which currently has the 450+ and 580 4MATIC in the lineup, and the 350 4MATIC version of the EQE, as well as the previously announced 350+ and 500 4MATIC models.

In addition, Mercedes has said that the 2023 model year will include an AMG version of the EQE sedan, essentially the same as the previously announced AMG EQS.

The Mercedes-AMG EQE sedan will bring sportiness and "impressive power. The model is equipped with a powerful 328V high-performance drive battery, manufactured using the latest lithium-ion technology, and the powertrain maintains the AMG Performance 4MATIC+ variable all-wheel drive system. This system is described as continuously distributing drive torque between the front and rear axles depending on driving conditions, ensuring faster response times compared to mechanical all-wheel drive systems.
