Apple releases new promotional video: Apple Watch Series 7 is quite durable
Apple today released a new commercial video for Apple Watch Series 7 that highlights the device's durability in a variety of wearing conditions.
In Apple's "Hard Knocks" ad video, a number of scenarios are shown in which people expose the Apple Watch, intentionally or unintentionally, to a variety of weather conditions, liquids and physical impacts. Some examples include a person jumping into a swimming pool from a height, a person swinging a racket at a tennis ball, a person catching their wrist in a door while chasing a bus, and a person falling while ice skating.
The tagline for Apple Watch Series 7, which Apple says is "the most durable Apple Watch ever made," is shown at 1:38 in the video and features the music of Jack White's "Power of My Love.
As previously reported by Bloomberg, Apple is developing a version of the Apple Watch Sport "with a rugged case" for athletes, hikers and others who use the watch in more extreme conditions. The Apple Watch Sport Extreme will have the same features as the standard Apple Watch, but with greater impact resistance and protection. Apple is expected to launch a more rugged Apple Watch in 2022.
