Apple removes AirTag battery level display from the Find app
July 21 - Apple appears to have intentionally removed the AirTag battery level display from the Find app in iOS 15.6 and the latest iOS 16 Beta, according to macrumors.
In previous versions of iOS, when the AirTag page opened in Find, a small battery icon would appear below the AirTag's name and location, and when the battery level got very low, the battery icon would turn red and users would receive a notification to replace the battery.
Now, in iOS 15.6 and the latest iOS 16 Beta, as well as macOS Monterey 12.5 and watchOS 8.7 updates, the AirTag battery level has been removed from the lookup. Not only that, but in Apple's latest support documentation on how to replace the AirTag battery, Apple has also removed the battery icon from Find, suggesting that users be informed of the battery level via the low battery banner alert.
The media speculates that Apple removed the AirTag battery level display altogether because it had been having problems with incorrect battery levels being displayed. In some cases over the past year, the battery level would show up as empty when there was actually a lot of charge left.
