Apple Safari browser Technical Preview 151 released
Today, Apple released Update 151 to Safari Technology Preview, an experimental browser that Apple introduced in March 2016. Apple designed Safari Technology Preview to test features that may be introduced into the official version of Safari in the future.
Apple Safari Technical Preview 151 includes bug fixes and performance improvements for Web Inspector, WebDriver, CSS, rendering, media, JavaScript, Web APIs, Web components, accessibility, lockdown mode and Web extensions.
The current Safari Technology Preview builds on the Safari 16 update and includes support for macOS Ventura features such as live text, passwords, Web extension improvements and more.
Unlike previous versions of Safari Technology Preview, the new version is compatible with machines running macOS 13 Ventura, but no longer works with macOS Big Sur.
The Safari Technology Preview update is available to users who have downloaded the browser through System Preferences - Software Update. The Safari Technology Preview, which runs alongside the existing Safari browser and is designed for developers but does not require a developer account, was introduced by Apple to gather feedback from developers and users on the browser development process.
