New sealed unopened Apple iPhone 1 generation phone fetches about $240,000, iPod 1 generation sells for about $170,000
Aug. 24 (Bloomberg) -- The latest Apple hardware auction wasn't just the first-generation Apple I computer that fetched a high price. In the same auction, a brand new sealed Apple iPhone 1 generation also sold for more than $35,000 (about $239,400).
These items were part of RR Auction's "Apple, Steve Jobs and Computer Hardware" auction.
At the same auction, a rare Apple-1 prototype reportedly owned by Steve Jobs sold for $677,196 (about 4.632 million yuan).
According to ZDnet, the auction also included an unopened iPod Generation 1 for $25,000 (about $171,000).
Apple's vintage equipment often sells for high prices at auction. A vintage Apple check signed by Steve Jobs ($9.18 face value) sold for $55,000 (about RMB 376,200) in June.
In January, an autographed note from Steve Jobs sold for $124,998 (about RMB 855,000). In the same auction, Steve Jobs' hand-painted Pixar business card sold for $13,289 (about RMB 90,896.76).
