Corsair announces new MP700 PCIe 5.0 SSD with up to 10000MB/s
Earlier today, Corsair announced that its water coolers and DDR5 memory were ready for AMD's upcoming Raider 7000 processors. Now, the new MP700 PCIe 5.0 SSD has been announced on Corsair's overseas website and is coming to the AMD AM5 platform.
According to Corsair, the MP700 PCIe 5.0 SSD has a sequential read speed of 10,000MB/s and a sequential write speed of 9,500MB/s, which is an improvement over its flagship PCIe 4.0 SSD, the MP600 PRO XT.
At the Flash Memory Summit earlier this month, AMD and Cluster demonstrated PCIe Gen5 SSDs running on the Ryzen 7000 platform, also at speeds of up to 10,000MB/s.
PCIe 5.0 SSDs are known to be available in the common 2280 form factor, the wider 2580 form factor, and the longer and wider 25110 form factor, and AMD's new X670 motherboard has confirmed support for all three sizes of PCIe 5.0 SSDs.
AMD will be releasing the Riptide 7000 processor at the end of this month, which is expected to launch at the end of September, and PCIe 5.0 SSDs from various manufacturers are expected to be available at the same time.
