Amazon Amazon Web Services announced that its Apple M1 Mac mini cloud instance is out of preview and now available for general use by customers.
Apple M1 Mac mini Instance Now Officially Available in Amazon AWS Cloud Services
Following a preview in December 2021, AWS is now making the M1 Mac mini instance available to all users. According to Amazon, the new instances are 60 percent more cost effective than Intel Mac mini instances.
The AWS Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) service allows users to run on-demand macOS workflows in the cloud. Each instance connects to a dedicated Mac mini via Thunderbolt for AWS Nitro systems, and users can choose between macOS Big Sur and macOS Monterey as the operating system.
Amazon says its Mac instances bring many benefits to developers, including lower costs and allowing for rapid re-architecting and testing of Apple Silicon.
The cloud computing giant first added an Intel-based Mac mini instance to its service in December 2020.
