Apple: Live Events and ActivityKit will not be included in the initial public release of iOS 16
Today, Apple pushed out Beta 4 of the iOS 16 Developer Preview to users, bringing updates to customize the Home and Lock screens, CarPlay, and more.
Then, Apple told developers that Live Activity helps users see what's happening in an app in real time, directly from the lock screen. Now developers can start using Live Events and the new ActivityKit framework. The feature is available in beta 4 of iOS 16.
Live Activity is a new feature that gives users access to real-time information and information such as sports events, workout data, carpooling, delivery orders, and more, right on the lock screen.
Note that Apple says Live Events and ActivityKit will not be included in the initial public release of iOS 16.
Live Activity and ActivityKit will be available later this year in an updated version of iOS. At that time, developers will be able to submit apps configured with the Live Activity feature to the App Store.
