Markus Duesmann, the head of Audi, said that the Audi TT will be a 100% electric model and will maintain the driving pleasure it has always provided to its users. No official date was given for the launch of the new car, which is expected to take place at least until 2025.

Duesmann also said that the electric sports car will offer "a concept quite similar to the TT, but not necessarily its successor", so it is expected to be a more modern design with very compact proportions and a similar style to the e-tron.

The pure electric version of the TT will be based on the new "PPE" Premium EV platform and will share the same chassis architecture as the future Porsche 718 model. Power has yet to be announced, with the PPE platform offering front- or rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive options, so it's all possible.
