September 2 evening news, in 2022 China International Trade in Services Fair, Lenovo Group announced for the first time independent research and development of "remote replacement" robot - Lenovo Morning Star robot S1.

According to the introduction, Lenovo Morning Star Robot S1 is a product for digital transformation of manufacturing industry in the era of Industry 4.0. When putting on the Morning Star AR glasses, the images captured by the Morning Star Robot S1 emerge directly in front of the eyes. This is also the unique "remote presence" function of Lenovo Morning Star Robot S1.

Lenovo said that as a "remote stand-in" robot, S1 innovatively integrates the metaverse with industrial robots, allowing users to get an immersive remote active observation experience without the pain of traveling and complicated travel procedures. In addition, the S1's housing material is made of recyclable plastic and low-carbon aluminum, improving performance and durability while also being more environmentally friendly. It is reported that the S1's height is at 142cm, similar to the height of human vision, with a four-wheel independent suspension design that enhances the S1's stability during travel, plus a two-axis high-performance gimbal that makes the returned images less jittery and more stable and clear, while also reducing the user's sense of vertigo when watching remotely.

Lenovo said, at present, S1 has been used in the remote inspection of the world's large chemical plant area campus, to enhance the economic efficiency of enterprises and reduce the cost of the audit plant to provide an intelligent solution path.
