Apple macOS 12.5.1 released
Apple today pushed the macOS 12.5.1 update (internal version number: 21G83) to Mac computer users, 28 days after the last release.
Note that due to server configuration caching issues across Apple's regional nodes, there may be a slight delay in detecting the update in some locations, typically within half an hour, not too long.
The macOS Monterey 12.5.1 update can be downloaded to all eligible Macs using the System Preferences Software Update section.
macOS Monterey 12.5.1 improves macOS security and is recommended for all users, according to Apple's release notes. The update addresses kernel and WebKit vulnerabilities that could lead to arbitrary code execution. Apple says it is aware that these vulnerabilities could be actively exploited, so it is important to update immediately.
Apple is also currently targeting the development of macOS 13 Ventura, which will be released this fall.
