Buzz is reportedly based on the MEB (Modular Electric Drive) platform and debuted at the Detroit Auto Show in 2017, making it the fourth all-electric model in VW's all-electric "ID" model lineup, following the launch of the ID.3 hatchback, ID.4 SUV and the new ID.5 coupe SUV.

The ID.Buzz is available in three versions: ID.Buzz Life, ID.Buzz Style and ID.Buzz 1st Edition. 1st Edition is priced slightly higher at £62,995 (about RMB 504,000).

The ID.Buzz is equipped with a 77kWh lithium-ion battery that provides 150kW (204 PS) of power to the rear motor, generates 310Nm of torque and has a range of 258 miles (about 415 km) under WLTP. VW claims that the car takes about 30 minutes to charge from 5% to 80%. The media said that the car will start production later this year.
