IDC: China AR / VR market shipments exceed 500,000 units in the first half, consumer market share continues to rise
In the second quarter of 2022, China shipped 309,000 AR / VR headsets, including 12,000 units of AR and 297,000 units of VR.
The report noted that from the VR segment, Standalone VR shipped 273,000 units, up 19.2% YoY, while Tethered VR shipped 24,000 units, down 22.1% YoY. Standalone products are standalone devices with independent computing power, while Tethered products rely on other devices for computing power.
IDC said that in the first half of 2022, in the head manufacturers of offline retail spread a wide range of strong force and online marketing, the overall AR / VR market shipments reached 586,000 units, including AR shipments of 28,000 units, VR shipments of 558,000 units, the consumer market shipments continue to increase the proportion.
