To communicate with normal people, hearing-impaired people usually read what the person they are talking to wants to say through lips and facial expressions, or use hearing aids, but these are not very convenient. Recently a British smart glasses company (XRAI Glass) launched a product that can display real-time captions on the lenses of glasses.

This smart glasses by AR glasses company Nreal production, software from XRAI Glass, when using, the microphone on the glasses will get the conversation audio, and then use a wired connection to send to the phone, through the phone's sound audio software will be captions in time to display on the glasses, the software what can also identify who is talking, but also when the phone call can be used.

Because smart glasses rely too much on audio software, the effect is not so ideal when the environment is noisy or when there are too many people speaking. However, XRAI Glass president Skov optimistic that product development and optimization always need some time, now is only the first generation of products, the future of this software plus contact lenses, audio technology will also develop rapidly, the company also hopes that later this technology can be developed to real-time translation above. He also said, "We are proud that this innovative technology can enrich the lives of the hearing impaired."

Also according to users who have used the glasses, "The impact of being able to talk to someone without relying on just looking at their lips is clearly life-changing."

The smart glasses are currently priced at £399.99 (about $3,282.32) and have already allowed 100 hearing-impaired people to get their hands on the product and start testing it, and if all goes well, the glasses will be officially launched in September.
