On Monday local time, Martin Viecha, Tesla's head of investor relations, was invited to a technology conference held by Goldman Sachs, where he spoke about Tesla's battery supply in addition to presenting the company's growth plans for the next five years to the investors in attendance.

According to TESLARATI today, citing Insider, Wicha said Tesla typically uses about 90 percent of its supply chain for electric cars and about 10 percent for Tesla's energy storage products. While Tesla CEO Elon Musk has previously raised the issue of rising battery costs, Wicha said that Tesla actually has an adequate and stable supply of batteries.

As far as I can remember, this is the first time that Tesla's electric car business and energy storage business have both been supplied with sufficient batteries," Veach said. As to how Tesla is improving the issue of battery supply, Vichar said the main reason is that Tesla started working with multiple suppliers. Previously, Tesla batteries had been supplied by one company, the Panasonic Group, but in recent years Tesla began working with companies such as Ningde Times and LG.

These battery makers are rapidly increasing their production capacity, which is helping Tesla's capacity increase, Vichar said. If the electric car industry wants to get 10 times the growth, the supply chain such as batteries also need to grow 10 times.

In addition to Ningde Times, BYD will also cooperate with Tesla. According to teslamag.de on August 11, the German-made Tesla Model Y will be fitted with BYD blade batteries with a capacity of 55 kilowatt hours and a range of 440 kilometers.
